Poeme Electronique, Landmark 1958 Animation and Electronic Score
The seminal electroacoustic music composition Poeme Electronique was first performed at the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. The work was a revolution in that it included synchronised Animation and Electronic Score, spatialised over 400 loudspeakers and occupied the extraoidinary Phillip Pavilion designed by the architect Le Corbusier. The music was composed by Xenakis and Varese, and is definately part of the cannon of electronic music.
